Wintery and Kitteny And Stuff

I heard some people chatting about how they couldn't find ice skates they liked so I thought I would show these bad boys from Dilly Dolls in case anyone else is looking.  There is a gacha with a zillion colors (and exclusive patterns) where you can get them for 50L a pop.  You can also do like I did, since I am lazy and impatient haha, and just pay 100L to get a pack with multiple colors.  :P  The skates come with a hud that has options for size and 12 different colors.  Other styles and colors for men and women are available in the store as well.

My friend Sanura gave me this adorable gingerbread cookie KittyCat and I wanted to show him in my picture too since I was feeling all wintery.  If you don't want to do the whole raising/breeding/feeding thing you can get a little shoulder pet guy like the one in the Santa hat for free at the RFL Xmas Expo!  To keep yourself from nibbling on the cookie kitty and to warm up on skating breaks you can grab a cookie and hot cocoa from the What Next tray.  Steam or no steam options, it gives out drinks on touch, and it only has a land impact of three. :D
Worn/Used:
Ice Skate Boots: Dilly Dolls, 100L a pack for this style
Food and Tray: What Next
Tights: Jane
Cookie Cat: KittyCats (breedable pet, style of cookie chosen at random)
Santa Cat: KittyCats, free @ Xmas Expo

Retro Winter

I got this hair from EMO-Tions and everywhere I go someone is all "OMG WHERE DID YOU GET THAT HAIR?" so I figured I should blog it.  It really is an awesome style and it's made well.  I love a classic Betty bang anytime!  I thought this gacha dress from Cupcakes was a nice addition since the polka dots and bows have that vintage feel to them.  This little mesh shawl from Zenith will keep your pixels shoulders warm, goes with so many types of looks, and is color change.  Yay!
My skin is a dollarbie from Mother Goose's and the black lipstick adds a bit of the gloom and doom I love to this otherwise sweet as pie look.  If you ever have a newbie ask where they can get good skin for free or cheap, SEND THEM TO MOTHER GOOSE'S.  There are a million there.  My decor is from What Next and is just sweet, wintery and a bit whimsical.  There are poses for singles or couples but my dress would not cooperate with the poses so I didn't use them.
Enjoy!
Worn and Used:
Dress: Cupcakes
Skin: Mother Goose's, 1L
Hair: Emo-tions (hair base layer included)
Shawl: Zenith
Decor: What Next

I was asking people on Plurk to share their before and after shots of photos HERE and it was fun so I thought I would share my before photo here in case anyone else is interested in that sort of thing:

Basically I just changed the lighting, softened a couple of sharp edges, fixed a weird spot on the shawl that the post created, sharpened and blurred a couple things, cropped, etc.  Not much but more than I normally do!  If you have any before and after shots you want to share feel free to comment in my Plurk about it or share in comments. :)

Saved From the Robot Unicorn by a Strange Creature

The other day my daughter would not leave me alone until I played Robot Unicorn Attack with her (for her actually, she's only four.)  I enjoy the occasional little game of Robot Unicorn every couple of months but she WOULD NOT LEAVE ME ALONE.  I tried to get her to do not computer things but that's all she wanted to do.  So I remembered how much she liked the Beetlebones mesh hamster and thought that if maybe I logged in and let her play with my av in that she would be happy.  But as I logged in I discovered something new...this perfect little creature:
This, my friends, is a Strangeling.  This full mesh avatar was created by Flying Monkey Interactive. These folks are great with cute.  But they are also great with magical themes (Magic of Oz sim and Ozimals breedables have a couple of the same folks involved with the project thought they are NOT the same company.)  So cute + magic + wonderful craftsmanship + good scripting = Strangelings.  I have the whole shebang pack of all the accessories here which is awesome because the child insisted on unicorn horn and Pegasus wings and pink and zebra and a cute little tail and and and and...you get the point.
The avatar is actually pretty cheap at only 495L for the basic pack that comes with the basic fox-like avatar that comes and a hud for full color customization, AO, anims., etc.  If you want to add on one component, say wings, you would pay 95L for that customization pack (which would come with several "spine" options, not just wings.)  For 2500L you get EVERYTHING.  The avatar, all the customization options for spine,  back legs, tails, crowns/horns/hair, and...get this...A PETITE RIDER.  WTF is a petite rider you might ask?  Well, basically, it means that if your buddy is wearing a petite avatar of some sort THEY CAN RIDE YOU. Not.Even.Kidding.  I wanted to take a picture with someone riding on me but when you take blog photos at 4am asking people randomly if they will ride you while you take photos sounds...not good. LOL.  So, another day for that adventure!!
These avatars are available in Second Life and very soon you will be able to play a game outside of SL where you can breed creatures just like these!  Sign up using my invite link HERE for early information on the game, check out the Strangelings website HERE and get the avatars at the Magic of Oz sim HERE.

Happy Vamps

It has been getting really dark, really early these and I have been thinking that if I was a vampire I would be super happy.  The days are short, the nights are long, they don't have to worry about freezing to death...yeah, it would be good to be a vampire way up north.  Anyway, because of that I decided to do a winter vampire look.  I am wearing the skimpy little fur one-piece outfit from Sakide for Around the World.  A vampire doesn't have to worry about staying warm so could totally rock this skin-baring look, hehe.  The outfit comes with a long-sleeved undershirt and boots as well!  My skin is a gacha item from Essences that you can get at The Deck right now for 150L a pop.  It's very realistic!  It comes with dark brows on it but I used the La Petite Morte eyebrow remover layer on top of it.  I used a set of alpha and prim vampire teeth from A Netherworld on that marketplace for only 75L and some under-eye shadow from my my store to finish the vampire feel.
My hair is from Alice Project for Around the World.  She has NINE new styles out for it.  I am not even joking.  I think the owner needs a nap.  The store is in like all the events ever, haha!  This style is called Yuri and can be used with any of the Alice Project Nova Collection dye huds to get the color you want.
Thanks for reading!

Hair: Alice Project @ Around the World
Outfit: Sakide @ Around the World

Vampire Teeth: A Netherworld @ Marketplace, 75L

I Wish David Lynch Was My Cousin So We Could Eat Thanksgiving Food Together and It Would BE Amazing

I only named this post that because this post is called Your Cousin is George Lynch (from the store PDA, no longer available), which reminded me of David Lynch, and also I can't wait for pie.  So that happened.  Anyway, moving on, here is a new dress from Blue Blood!  This dress is a hand drawn, mesh item which comes in standard sizes with multiple color options available.  It fit my shape pretty well and it's great for those who prefer the drawn look instead of the photo-realistic type stuff.
My hair is from Clawtooth by Clawtooth.  I have been feeling the gray hair lately (don't kill me Isabeau!)  My stitched up eyebrows are from Miss Shippe's Studio and work best with a skin that doesn't have eyebrows or on top of an eyebrow remover tattoo layer.  You can always count on MSS for something unique and pretty much amazeballs.  My skin is from Mons and was a Cinema event exclusive but you can get other similar styles at the store and they are fab, as always.
Enjoy!

Oh, Stephani.

I like taking pictures of shoes.  I don't even have to wear clothes on top.  It's just boom, look at the shoes, cam in close, take a pic, done.  Since I am lazy that is a very good thing.  Another thing that is great for lazy people is shopping on the marketplace.  So getting shoes delivered right to my Linden home without putting any pants or hair on and not having to see other people and attempt to act like a human around people is the best.  These shoes are some you can find on the marketplace by Vikki Placebo.  She makes some pretty great things and I wish she would make lots more so she could get like SL rich, lol.  Then again when it's a store not as many people know about it I can feel special keeping it to myself. :3  But since I am nice I blog anyway. :P
The shoes are unrigged mesh, come in several colors for 250L each, come with multiple sizes, and are copy/mod.  You can get them HERE.  My projector box that I used for the photo is from Status poses and comes with five poses inside, is copy/modify and 350L.  You can't see much of it, and I have yet to fully figure it out, but so far it seems pretty cool.  You can get it HERE.  Other projector box types and poses available.

This Is Halloween-ish

Hiiiiiii!  I have some new mesh lovelies and a couple free things and all the awesome sauce for you today.  My dress and boots are both mesh and both from Dilly Dolls, though they are in different places.  The dress is one of the colors available of the new mesh dresses from DD at the Cinema event.  If you haven't been to this event...why not!?  There is really something for everyone.  The boots are a remake of the Sonata boots that I adored when they were first made with sculpts.  This time around you have the ability to use a hud to change the color of every part of the boot.  The stripes can change to one solid color or alternating colors.  You can also change the color of the boot trim and the buttons going up the back of the boot. Then at the Zodiac event is this lovely hair from Alice Project.  It is texture change via hud as most of Alice's hair is.  There is a style with bangs on it available as well.
My skin is a hunt gift from Fierce in the Resting Place event.  The event is like a haunted house/maze/puzzle game and the prizes aren't that easy to find in many cases but the event is great, prizes or not.  My lollipop is from the annual free Halloween treat bucket at Schadenfreude.  Get the bucket for 0L, click it, get yourself some fun stuff!
Enjoy!
Worn:
Dress: Dilly Dolls @ Cinema
Boots: Dilly Dolls
Hair: Alice Project @ Zodiac
Skin: Fierce @ The Resting Place event, free hunt gift (go to the entrance of Sn@tch and click the sign for the LM to the starting point and necessary info.)
Lollipop: Schadenfreude, from the free treat bucket

Gray

I got these horns from Lassitude & Ennui a while ago and didn't know what to wear them with since I am not normally a horns type of gal.  Then today I saw the group notice for this super awesome skin from MiaSnow and I was like oooh those would match well!  Then I was like dang, I am broke, I hope it's cheap.  AND IT WAS.  Only 299L and it comes with matching bloody face tattoo layer too, which you can see HERE.  Also cheap is my super cute mesh hair from Catwa, only 99L per color pack.  There are lots of nice shades in each pack so there should be a color for everyone, plus each color comes with a roots version as well.
Also from Lassitude & Ennui is my pretty necklace for Cinema.  It has a supernatural feel to it so I thought it would be good with this look.  Options for gold metal instead of silver on the pack also.
Worn:
Skin: MiaSnow @ Marketplace, 299L
Hair Catwa @ Marketplace, 99L for the pack
Horns: Lassitude & Ennui @ Starlust Monster Beach Party
Necklace: Lassitude & Ennui @ Cinema

White Zombie

Sometimes it's fun to make dark photos with light colors. :D  I got this skirt from Deathrocker Betty Crocker and just had to make a look around it.  The migraine I have insists I don't spend lots of time writing things today so have a peek at the credits!

Three Flavors of Cupcakes

First thing I want to say I know my pics might not be totally up to par at the moment.  I moved in RL and I just am not used to how things are set up yet.  You should, however, still be able to see how lovely these new skin lines from Cupcakes are!  First is the latest line called Nora.  I love how this is very natural, like when you wear it you feel like you could meet some lovely young woman with these features in real life.
Next is Starlet.  I chose a plain-lipped makeup for this line to show you the newer lip style.  I love the way this makeup looks like a matter or very bare lip would look.
Finally the next line is Doll.  I chose a red lip for this line because, well, I love red lips the best and this is a wonderful shade of it.  I chose a the regular cleavage option and wore my smaller-chested shape to show how the body works well with a smaller bust size.  The skin line also comes with a fuller breast but I think the flat-chested folks might like to see how things could look on them as well so I chose to show this option.
Each line from Cupcakes is available in many tones with multiple body, face and makeup options.  The skins are always affordable and there is almost always a great deal to be had somewhere in the store.  Check it out!
Worn:
All Skin: Cupcakes
Hair 1: D!va @ Collabor88
Hair 2 and 3: Action (brown hair is part of the September VIP gift which I think should still be out, 250L join fee for that group.)
Ink'd Dress: Ladies Who Lunch @ The Dressing Room Blue, 70L for dress, leggings and boots (dress also has a shoulder attachment, not worn)
Zebra Bikini: Sn@tch, comes with multiple trim color options, transferable

Some Kind of Post Title

I just have a mix of things I wanted to show today, almost all of it mesh.  I have a total love for mesh now, whereas a year ago I was like bleh this is kind of lame.  I have a hard time even getting interested in things that aren't mesh these days unless they are super awesome cool.  I just love that I can do unusual poses and move around freely and the items move with me.  Like this dress from C'est La Vie, for example.  If this was a sculpted skirt it would likely poof out all weird when I tried to do bending poses.  Blargh.  Also, mesh are my boots from Lassitude & Ennui for the L'Accessoires event this cycle and are out in multiple colors.  I love having ankle boots that move with me and don't make my ankles look all broken-y.  The boots come with options for a light or dark wood heel/platform.
OK so see below for more info., gotta run!

Dress: C'est La Vie
Boots: Lassitude & Ennui @ L'Accessoires, event runs until October 8th

Super Casual and Conservative

I have been feeling the casual vibe lately.  I know any minute I'll be back to my unusual preferences but for the moment it's all about neutrals and soft colors.  I was hanging out with my friend Dahl and she was like WTF...you look so professional/casual I am frightened.  That means I did good!
Now, about the clothes!  My pants are from L'Aph, a newish store that sells mesh awesomeness.  Lots of sizes included and also there are three cuff style options.  My sweater is from Sn@tch and comes in multiple colors, all transferable.  More info. on items below!

A Difficult Post

I hate trying to mix mesh pieces from different brands together.  Hate it.  I wanted to challenge myself, though, so I tried.  I sort of succeeded, lol.  The outfit is finally together and I like the way it looks but I had to alter my shape pretty dramatically to make it happen.  I had to fit into a XXS on the corset for it to be able to work under the skirt and my av normally wears a medium or small. 0.0  See, the problem is, the skirt from Bare@Rose only comes in one size.  That size is, I would say, around a medium in standard sizing.  It's rigged so no resizing allowed.  I was dumb and didn't try a demo before buying five new outfits from there, thinking I could use them all for mixing and matching. Blargh.  The wonderful thing about it is that all the pieces from Bare@Rose come in multiple colors, usually with a full out, not just one item, and they are dirt cheap.  So, even though the items are very difficult to mix and match, I am still happy with my B@R purchases.
My top is from Ingenue for Collabor88.  The top is available in a zillion sizes (standard sizing plus more) and the alpha layer textures for downloading to edit in case the alpha layer included doesn't work.  Lots of colors available and only 88L!  My necklace is part of a jewelry set from the MySecondBox group samples this month.  Ring and earrings also included.  My head wrap is from Vaughan's @ Fashion Voodoo.  The head wrap comes with two hair base tattoo layer options (I am not wearing them, I just felt like mixing it up and using a subscriber gift Hairoin base) and the wrap itself is texture change to three different patterns.  My skin is a new-ish release from JM:Mai that I just kind of decided I loved based on the fact that the lips and eye area definition was awesome.  It comes with two lip options and also eyebrows colors on the tattoo layer.
My shoes are new from Lassitude&Ennui for L'Accessoires.  There are lots of colors available for 350L each or you could be a rich girl and get the fat pack for 1000L. xD  The feet come with a skin tinting HUD that is pretty easy to use (color picker and RGB options, as well as various skin texture starting points) and also has twenty nail color options.  Rigged mesh and unrigged, resizable, mesh included.
Worn:
Top: Ingenue @ Collabor88, 88L
Shoes: Lassitude & Ennui @ L'Accessoires, 350L per color
Head Wrap: Vaughan's @ Fashion Voodoo, 93L, texture change
Hair Base: Hairoin, subscriber gift
Skin: JM:Mai, 950L
Skirt w/Attached Belt: Bare@Rose, 175L, includes four skirt colors, five shirt colors (not shown) and shoes and choker (not shown)
Necklace: Caroline's Jewelry, MySecodBox monthly item, group fee is 300L per month with guaranteed gifts from up to five designers each month (also includes earrings and ring, not shown)

Smack Talking on the Sidelines

I was wearing this outfit and realized it reminded me of the fancy girls being at the party talking about the other girls' outfits and being fabulous and rich and whatnot.  So, hey, put a martini and a cigarette in it and you've got that girl. Sometimes it's fun to be someone else.  But anyway, this dress is adorable and it's from Gotzsche at Vintage Fair.  It's got multiple sizes and an alpha layer and all of that.  There are other colors too if you don't like the pinkish pallet. *Cough* Isabeau *Cough*
My skin is a new release from Adam N Eve at Vintage Fair.  I did a close up HERE.  The pack includes options for dimples, cleavage, eyebrow colors, 6 lipstick tattoos and 6 eyeshadow tattoos on top of the skin itself!  That's a lot of awesome.  I am wearing the palest tone but there is a tone darker than this available as well.  If you want more details on the drink in my hand from Circa check out my Free*Style post HERE.

And Now For Something Totally Different

I've been blogging lots of light things lately so it's time for some dark colors in the mix.  I got this outfit from Adoness for Vintage Fair and I normally am not a Steampunk-Victorian-Etc. type of girl but I really like this.  First off, I love green.  Green is my fave color so anything that has it is likely to make me take a second look.  I tried it on and noticed that the collar is freaking awesome.  I love the little clock and cog details.  The outfit comes with a monocle (I'm wearing it) and a top hat (not worn.)  For information's sake, the outfit has a flexi skirt as the main part, the corset and top are on different layers, and there is a cute little pocket watch type chain detail on the side of the skirt.  The price is 280L and it is currently a Vintage Fair exclusive.
My hair is new from Vaughan's for Fashion Voodoo.  There are four colors available at only 93L each or 279L for all four.  It comes with the side-shaved hair base, which is super cute and I have even used it with some other hair too.  I liked the red color best of all and since I am a sucker for red hair + earth toned clothing it had to be worn. :D

Flowery

I have a few new things and some not so new things that I put together today for just a fun LOTD.  My dress is not new but it's something that Draconic Kiss released a few months ago that I fell in love with, meant to blog, lost in my inventory, found in my inventory, got too busy in SL and RL to blog, forgot about it, then found again.  *Runs out of breath*  So anyway, it's about time I posted it!  I am wearing the option with the purple belt and flowers because I thought it was cool how well it matched the purple option of the new Dilly Dolls shoes.
Speaking of Dilly Dolls, check out these shoes up close below.  There are color change with a bunch of bright colors to choose from and you can change the color of the buckle independently.  These are available at Vintage Fair for now and there is another pair with skulls on it there too you might want to check out.
My hair is also from Vintage Fair, this time by one of my fave stores, Alice Project.  Each hair style comes with a mini-pack of colors but if you are a VIP group member (250L join fee) there is a special VID hud with some fun color combos in it too. (not to mention the fact there is a special VIP only MM board prize and also Alice gives out gifts sometimes too :3)  Alice has several styles at the fair, this being just one of my faves.

Still Life

Ignore composition rules like the golden triangle or whatever etc. and just pretend I did a good job putting these items together. :D  I got them all from the new store Teawood that just opened on The Nest sim.  All the items are 35L-100L or so at the moment and the pink teapot is free!  The items all come with multiple options/pieces/etc., not just the single versions of each shown.  Check it out at the Main Store or on the Marketplace.
Check out Miu's post HERE for a pretty picture or go to the store FLickr HERE for all the pictures and updates.

Neutral Can be Good

So when it comes to opinions I often roll my eyes at people who claim to be neutral on many topics;however, when we're talking about neutral colors I am pretty pleased with the subject today. I love this mesh dress from Tulip for Fifty Linden Friday.  It moves well and the shading is great.  I was sitting here being happy about my paper airplanes necklace from Hate Me and Eat Me when I saw another folded paper themed item from Elate! fly into my inbox.  The owner of Elate! is back after successfully battling cancer and I am so, so happy to hear that.  Welcome back!!
My hair is from Esk-Imo at Hair Fair.  I love black hair the most so I am wearing that but this store has some good colors, even the dip-dyed colors people have been loving lately.  This style is sculpt and flex but they also have mesh styles at the fair for those who only wear mesh now.  My earring is also from Hate Me and Eat Me.  Of course it comes with 2 earrings in the set but I only felt like wearing one. :P  My skin is not available since it is a work in progress and not done because I am a slow skin maker. Bootsies

Lassitude&Ennui has new mesh boots out for sale.  I am loving these boots!  They are so tough yet so feminine.  That is a hard thing to accomplish!  There are lots of colors available and they aren't super expensive.  They have lots of size options too so if you have tiny legs or thick ones you should be able to find a fit.
Check them out HERE.

OMG An Actual Review!

So Isabeau normally does the actual skin reviews and I kind of do like "Hey, here's some stuff!"  Today, however, I wanted to share the new skin line "Emma" from Cupcakes.
I am a total skin fanatic in SL.  I own soooo many that I totally love and I have so much fun trying new brands; however, there are only a few that I feel are "me."  One brand is MiaSnow with the new Sweety line.  Another is Tuli but she hasn't been active in SL for quite some time now.  Third would be my own skins, obviously.  The one that I have always felt is me, for years now, is Cupcakes.  This new Emma line is my fave so far.  A bonus to how cute it is is how cheap they are!!  The tones are normally only 299L but the copper tone, the one I am wearing in the first photo, is on sale for only 50L each makeup style and one is even free.  Each one comes with a bare version of the skin too so you really are getting a two for one.  They even contain various tattoo layers too!  How cool is that?
I have very few negative things to say about this.  Maybe the only thing is the fuller cleavage on the lightest tone is a bit gray.  Other than that I love everything.  There are so many tones to choose from, natural and fantasy, many more than what I have shown here.  The freckles are classic Cupcakes, the knees and breasts are great, the new lips are to die for, the fingernails aren't super creepy looking like most skin brands.  One of my fave parts is the stomach.  It's shaded in a way that would work with very thin to very curvy body types.  Love!
The lingerie I am wearing is also from Cupcakes.  Some of the styles in the photos, like the white one on top for example, are as low as 10L!  I love new undies because they are great for blog posts showing off skins and, hey, who doesn't love a little lace every once in a while?  Also, my hair is a new mesh hair from Alice Project that you can find at Hair Fair.  I used the Infinity HUD to change the color, which includes tips and streaks options also.

Last Chance Shoes

The One Voice fundraiser ends tomorrow at 11:59pm SLT so go now before it's over!  The shoes I am wearing below are one of several offered from N-Core at the event.  You can see another pair I blogged HERE on Free*Style.  The skin I am wearing is new from Cupcakes and I know I have been teasing with bits and pieces, lol.
Have fun!

...

I got this skin from Cupcakes and it was so feminine and beautiful and I plan to blog it in more detail in a bit but first I had to make it look androgynous and put a bunch of tattoo makeup layers and stuff on it because I can't leave well enough alone. :D
Pairing this skin in a more bare version with this new hair from Entente at Hair Fair and these untamed eyebrows that are free from Sleeping Koala changes the feel completely.  You could take either of those items and still make a look that is light and fresh and bubblegum girly if you work at it but I just had fun turning this into an "I can't be bothered to fuss with all that girly high maintenance shit" style.
Worn:
Skin: Cupcakes "Emma" line
Hair: Entente @ Hair Fair, mesh, includes four colors and a hud that does all kinds of tinting and resizing and stuff

Drunk Butterfly

I took this picture for a lipstick ad but I loved this hair and these eyes too much not to blog them.  There isn't anything about drunks or butterflies so if that's what you came here for, I apologize.  This hair is from Action and is one of *two* group gifts currently in the store.  It's a VIP group, so there is a fee, but the gifts are regular and AWESOME and you sometimes get deals on regular product as well.  My eyes are one of several in a hunt gift from Skin Within.  I love this store's eyes and I hope she starts making things regularly again.

Grabbed

All content creators in SL have had to watch over their shoulders all the time to make sure their content isn't being stolen.  This is, unfortunately, useless.  People can steal easily and they do it often.  My items have been stolen and I am not even a big shop at all.  It doesn't affect me much other than making me cry and feel bad and want to quit.  For others, who make their RL incomes in SL, it can be devastating.  Most often stores are able to keep going even with the stolen items circulating because people want to support the original creator.  With the current case of Curio vs. Hush skins that isn't the case.  Hush has gone so far as to file a false copyright and get Gala's skins removed completely from the grid, giving her no chance to try and keep going.  It's appalling but it's happened before.  Because SL is all over the world, when this sort of thing happens people can't afford to fight in other countries.  This time we as a community will help the fight.
The One Voice fundraiser is here to help Gala Phoenix go to Canada and fight these false claims in court.  This international fight could set a new precedent and is extremely important to any content creator in SL and any other virtual world.  Whether you agree with Gala or not it's something you'll want to follow.  I am very tired and can't speak well on the subject but my pal Eden at Free*Style has explained things pretty well HERE with links to other information on the subject as well.  The fundraiser has some amazing items at great prices with 50%-100% of each item being donated to Gala Phoenix to help her fight this thief.  I hope you'll check it out, even if it's just to grab pretty things.

Hairy and Red

I got this new mesh hair from Analog Dog and I had to blog it right away.  It's just too good not to show off!  When a lot of people think of Analog Dog they think of 2007 giant flexi permanently full bright shiny hair, when in fact it has changed quite a lot in that time.  They have just started doing mesh but I am already floored by the quality.  Not only is the hair mesh (something I have come to think of as a positive for most brands, though some brands don't fit my big, weird head yet) but it also has a separate attachment with flexi parts to give it a bit of movement.  Super cool!
My mesh crop top is from Schadenfreude and I just love this retro style.  This top comes in the "standard sizing" fits from XXS-L.  My skin is my new go-to from MiaSnow.  I don't want to take it off ever, don't make me!!!! *Cries*

Puking Rainbows on Alice

Ever wonder why no one has ever found a mermaid even with all the reported sightings?  Because no one bothers to look when no one believes a pirate covered in rainbow vomit, that's why.
You can get this awesome rainbow spewer from Weather or Not and this mermaid ensemble from Quaratine, both at the current Zombie Popcorn carnival.  You can wear the face paint from the WoN set by itself but you'll need a friend (or enemy?) if you want the rainbow puking action, since it takes two people to work.  The mesh mermaid tail from Quarantine only comes in one size so keep that in mind.
I know my pictures aren't that great this time but I had way too much fun taking these pics that I wasn't paying close enough attention to notice the flaws until after they were done.  Just trust me that everything is nice! xD
Worn:
Rainbow Spewer Set: !Weather or Not? @ Zombie Popcorn
Mermaid Tail (mesh), Shell Bra and Pose: Quarantine @ Zombie Popcorn
Hair: Clawtooth by Clawtooth @ Collabor88, 88L per color pack
Skin: Adore&Abhor, MySecondBox gift item (300L join fee, group joiner in store in case you can't fit it in search)
Additional Notes:
-The person with me in the pirate outfit is Alice Demonia.  I have no clue what she is wearing.
-There are some extra rainbow-y effects I added in the first photo post-process and I found them on Pixlr.

Road Trip Fail and Success

I have had this dress from Valentine E. for over a week now and haven't been able to blog.  I've had some time here and there to do it, that wasn't the problem; the problem was how I should do it.  I have seen other people make it look so glamorous and I know that I can't compete with that, being more of a kooky girl and less of a sophisticated fashionista. I didn't want to do my normal straight SL shot in front of a white wall thing because this dress screams a story that needs to be out of the box.  I felt like I was taking this dress on a trip around the grid searching for spots until I was just creatively broken down.  At that point I was at the Voc Linda sim and I saw this Winnebago and was like holy shit, that's perfect.  I put my av in a style that depicts a break-down, one wear you lose your heels and give up the glamor and just walk until you find what you need, as frustrating as it, much like my journey to get a picture I liked!
OK, sorry for the long rambling.  I had a lot of fun taking this picture once I got to this sim and had a location FINALLY.  If I didn't love this look so much I would have gave up long before and let my inventory absorb the items until they were never seen again, which happens to just about everything I buy, sadly. looool.  Anyway, this dress is only available right now at the current Chic Management event.  There are lots of colors available and it is sold in the mesh "standard sizing" options.  Please see the credits for the rest of the item details! :D

Utilitarian

Most of the clothing I buy and blog is the dress-up type.  I show dresses, lingerie, high heels, etc.  One thing I don't show as often are very casual things.  Well, I got these shoes from Bitch and I fell in love with the faux utilitarian style.  I say faux utilitarian because they have a rugged style to them, almost like a work boot, but they have a high, dressy wedge heel.  I love how they have the elastic bits on the side so you feel like if you were putting them on in RL they would just slide on quick and easy.  I'm wearing the most tame color here but there are brighter colors too, like red and purple, as well as classic black and other neutral colors.
My pants are from Sn@tch's weekly Wednesday 75L special.  The color I am wearing here reminds me of some Dickie's I had back when I was a much younger girl and needed some pants that could withstand dirty basement punk rock shows.  They are mesh and come with a whole bunch of colors.  For the price you get only one size choice so try the demo!!!  They are not made with Standard Sizing in mind so don't assume you know which size will fit you without trying.
Worn:
Shoes: Bitch @ FaMeshed monthly event
Pants: Sn@tch, 75L special (includes several colors)
Kitchen Utensil: Plausible Body, part of a pay-what-you-want outfit (heavily edited for the photo)

A Quick Plea To Designers

I have been discussing something with a lot of people lately and I wanted to let any designers who may stumble across my blog know about it.  We really, really, REALLY would like it if you did the following when sending group notices:

Please make a note card for your notice that has all of the following on it:
   -Landmark
   -Item Photo
   - Any important product information, such as when a sale ends or if the item is limited edition, etc.

When you send only a photo, only an LM or a note card with just a Flickr link or something chances are you will get a lot fewer customers.  People don't want to have to search around for your store (we all know using search isn't exactly foolproof.)  If people see something they link they want to go get it.  If we have to put the LM or texture in there folders until we have the time to dig around for your store info. then we might forget and never bother to get it.
Another important thing is make sure you have your store updated, a slurl on your about me, ANYTHING that will let us know where to go.  Pretty please?
OK if this info. helps even one person I will be super happy!  Thanks for reading my semi-rant. xD

Hate Me Handy Bastard

Oh, just sleepy ol' me, dozing off at the gallery.
Quick!  Grab the art and go before security sees us!
I had a lot of fun taking these pictures.  I've been quite uninspired lately by the same old pastel pink tube dresses and ripped ass crack pants so when I find something as refreshing as the items in these pictures I have to put my spin on them.  So often I'll see somewhere in SL selling art and think "Hey, that would look nice in my tiny house!" only to realize it was stolen off of Deviant Art or something like that.  This painting by Ken Bastard not only looks nice in my tiny house, it is in SL with permission from the original artist.  Gasp! Yep!  You can see Ken Bastard's website HERE for more goodness.
My table and the goodies on top of it are from a new-to-me store called Handverk.  I spotted them at Culture Shock when I was trying to find my booth to set up and was like say whaaaaat!?  It was really exciting to see their booth and to find something that was not only not shabby chic but also was mesh!  I look forward to seeing more from this brand.
My dress is from Hate Me and Eat Me and if you read my blogs you should know by now how much I love this store.  She always makes something a bit different and very exciting.  She took a basic strapless dress and textured it in shimmering ombre that looks so good with or without windlight settings on.  It's mesh and comes in 3 sizes, small, medium and large, and I'm not entirely sure if they use the Standard Sizing numbers or not so be aware of that.
Below is a close up on the skin and makeup I am wearing in the photo:
My skin is from YourSkin & YourShape and my eye makeup is from Cheap Makeup, both at Culture Shock.  The left side shows the skin without any additional makeup added.  I wore it with the dark eyebrow and hair base option, though there are other color options as well.  You can also find cleavage options and more so make sure to try the demo to get a feel of all you get.  The right side shows the skin with the eye makeup added to it.  The makeup is available in a ton of colors and works with just about every skin tones, as Cheap makeup usually does.
  Have fun!

Sheer

Oh Culture Shock, you are so awesome.  I am super lucky because my store is in Culture Shock so I got to go early and swoon over all of the lovely things without lag.  One of the things I swooned over the most was this set from Solidea Folies.  There are several color options available but black and white is my fave with just about everything in fashion, this set included.  The dress is mesh and comes with an attachment of the "eyeball-like" things that are attached to the mask but I didn't wear them because I just wanted a more simple feel.  I wore a bigger size in the mesh than I normally would because I like the way it looks floating away from the body with the sheer "fabric."
I love masks in general and I just adore this one especially.  I have a hard time getting really super excited about things in SL lately but this got me all super duper happy.  There is an all black version I loved too that is in the same shade of black as the circles on the dress.  I realized the circles on the dress were the same shade of matte black as this collar from Hate Me and Eat Me so I added it to the look.  I love the old-fashioned appeal of it.  My lipstick is also from Hate Me and Eat Me but since it's under the mask you can't see it very well.  It's nice though, I promise. :P
My hair is from Tuty's and I don't think it's a new release but I am not in the group so I don't know.  I just check out their Marketplace store every once in a while for things I don't have, haha.  I love how natural the hair base looks.  My skin and under eye liner are from Adore&Abhor at Culture Shock but since it's my own store I won't say too much about it. :P  I'm wearing 2 different eyes and they were both dollarbies from Marketplace.  Yay Marketplace!  The brush I used for the background was a RL freebie from InSight Designs.  Yay RL freebies!

Feeling Kind of Earthy

Wow, I really hate the new Blogger home layout.  It's burninating my eyeballs with all the white. D:  But anyway, blog post time! I don't wear brown and gold tones very often, blame the goth-punk-psychobilly chick in me, but every once in a while I find some stuff I like.  When I saw this cabaret-inspired vest (part of a whole outfit) as a hunt item from Cillian'gel for Wear Gray I got super excited and decided I had to make a look around it.  I looked through the recent items tab in my inventory and was pleasantly surprised to find lots of things that worked with it!  Even this cute chair from Mudhoney and this lovely little beachy house from Funky Junk worked with the look.  This skirt from Miao was a great find especially, I love the ruffly bottom of it!
Here is the obligatory facial close-up where you can see my lovely skin from Cupcakes, my free eyes from Insufferable Dastard, and my free necklace from Artistry by ~E~.
For an even closer close-up, check out my shoes from baby Monkey.  I am wearing the brown version up top but I am a sucker for red so here you have them!  The version I have is color change so woo!
And for the closest close-up yet, check out my prim hands from MiaSnow.  I was weary of prim hands, hadn't tried them before this, but MiaSnow is always very affordable and these came with color change nails, bracelets, and, best of all, get this...Ring Pop Ring!!  YAY!  When I saw the store blog link to these in my offline messages I was literally about to go get my daughter a Ring Pop from the cupboard, totally not even shitting you.  It was meant to be!
Ok well I hope you find something you like and here is the rest of the info.!

Manvatar Love

So none of this stuff is new, in fact some of it is quite old, but I was wandering around in my malt (or manvatar, or male avatar, whatever you want to call it) when I realized how much I love this MiaSnow male skin and how I have never really expressed that love.  Well, here it is!
This is what my av is wearing right now.  My man avs tend to wear FIR&MNA and Pig almost exclusively.  I have bits and pieces from other brands but these two always seem to call to me.
 OK, have fun!
Worn:
Skin: MiaSnow
Clothing: Pig (shirt free @ Free Dove as part of an outfit) some of it might not be available but most is I think.
Facial Stitches: Miss Shippe's Studio
Neck Hickey: Ero Rabbi, free (includes chest version as well for male and female)

Shoes: FIR&MNA (this kind with the neon on the bottom is no longer available I believe but you can get them in plain black and others as well still)
